Needed: Lemon slice, bowl, water, something to stir with, a separate liquid container, something black (it could be food coloring, but if not it must be able to fit in the bowl and the container)
My bf just found out I'm a witch and he doesn't like it. He's already had me deactivate my side blog (not the one you called someone out on btw). I love him so much, and I know he loves me too, but I don't want to stop my witchcraft... What can I do?
I don’t wanna tell you how to live your life, anon, but him making you delete your sideblog just because he doesn’t like the content is incredibly worrying. If I were you, and I knew I would be safe in the situation, I’d tell him to step off and let me have my hobbies and if he doesn’t like it then he doesn’t have to stick around. Maybe in a nicer way at first, though.
I don’t know his reasons for being against the craft. Maybe it’s simple misinformation and him thinking it’s some evil thing. If that’s the case, try to educate him and help him see all the good magick can do. He loves you, so he’ll probably listen. Or maybe he’s just mad that you kept such a big thing from him. In that case, talk it out, explain why you weren’t open about your craft, and listen to and acknowledge his feelings. Apologize if they were hurt. But remember that he owes you a pretty damn big apology for making you delete your own blog as well, and don’t let that slip by just because he had hurt feelings.
This is all just my opinion, and you don’t have to follow what I say, but seeing this situation really upsets me and I hope I could help in some way. I hope you two can work it out, and if not… well, there’s plenty of wonderful guys out there who would accept you and your magick with open arms. Stay safe, love.
Spirit: *moves a cup* Most people: AAHHHHHHHH SATAN BE GONE WHAT THE FUCK ITS A DEMON OUT FOR MY SOUL. Me: *picks up cup* ahh ur right Jerry I really should drink more water. Thanks man
just decided that every single “heterosexual” character that exists is actually bisexual. every single one of them is bi now folks
???? I’m sorry ????
You’re probably the first person to get real, real mad (with reason), when someone turns a LGBT+ character into a cis/straight one, be it in fics, headcanons or really anything. Because it. is. not. ok. to. invalidate. someone’s. sexuality (or gender).
Straight people also have a right to that.
Straight people and characters have the right to be represented as what they are : straight. Don’t deny someone the rights that you’re fighting to get. It’s counterproductive, immature, and just overall being an asshole. I’m tired of straight characters being depicted as bi/gay/whatever when, if they were gay and someone changed their sexuality, everyone on this website would be scandalised and horrified.
I repeat : DON’T DENY SOMEONE THE RIGHTS THAT YOU’RE FIGHTING TO GET.
Thank you.
i’m fighting for the right to marry whatever gender i want in whatever country i want.
i’m fighting for the right to have my birth certificate read what my gender really is rather than what i was assigned.
i’m fighting for the right for my queer siblings in other countries to be openly queer without getting legally executed by their governments.
i’m fighting for the right to be queer without being denied a job for it (that kind of discrimination is still legal in many areas.)
i’m fighting for the right to have my sexuality and gender identity NOT be hidden from children, as if loving who you love and being who you are is some scandalous, kinky thing.
i’m fighting for the right to have a teacher hear other students call me a “tranny faggot” and threaten to assault me, and not have the teacher brush it off and refuse to do anything about it. (that incident actually personally happened to me about a year ago)
i’m fighting for the right to hear a boy blatantly sing about loving a boy on a major radio station, which i have never experienced.
i’m fighting for the right to go to the movie theater and see a feel-good movie involving gay/trans main characters (played by actual gay/trans actors) that i can identify with, which i have never experienced.
THOSE are the rights i’m fighting for. it’s SO MUCH MORE than “don’t headcanon characters as sexualities they’re not!!!” because that rhetoric is bullshit and proves that privileged people aren’t paying attention to what oppressed groups are actually saying and what their problems actually are.
DON’T GET PISSY OVER SOMEONE HEADCANONING CHARACTERS AS UNDERREPRESENTED SEXUALITIES AND GENDERS; YOU HAVE NO CLUE WHAT WE GO THROUGH AND NO CLUE HOW LITTLE WE GET TO SEE PEOPLE LIKE US IN THE MEDIA.
Just a heads up I guess that not everyone is really who they say they are. Apparently this alternate reality game has a big community and they don’t disclaim they are “playing” and take no issue in engaging with actual witches and pagans with false information and fake stories.
Yeah, just fair warning to any such accounts who may be following me for the lulz or the aesthetic or whatever.
This is not a game. This is not a joke. This is my life, and my livelihood. Writing about witchcraft literally puts the bread on my table every month. I am real, and the people that I write for and advise are equally real.
If you want to roleplay as a witch, fine. That’s your business, and it’s not a problem so long as you SAY that your blog is for RP purposes. (And no, I don’t care if that ruins your immersion. There are real witches here and we deserve respect.)
If you’re interested in having a serious conversation about witchcraft because you’re curious about it, I’m totally here for you.
But if you’re just here to screw around for the sake of your RPG and you can’t be arsed to respect actual practicing NON-FICTIONAL witches?
